Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – Independent Baseball League team, the Sugar Land Skeeters, were trying to head to play the Long Island team of the Atlantic League to try and continue their 10-game winning streak.  Tropical Storm Bill had other ideas.

The team was stranded at Hobby International Airport in Houston early Tuesday when their flight was cancelled, according to multiple reports.

Airport officials have said about 25 percent of all flights have been affected by the weather.

The Skeeters are trying to catch a different flight that might take them through Florida on their way to New Jersey before hopping on a bus to Long Island. First pitch is scheduled for 6pm local time.
