Houston (CBS Houston) – The Houston Texans are already looking to improve on their 53-man roster as they get ready to face the Washington Redskins week one.

The Texans made headlines last night releasing cornerback Brandon Harris, today they are reportedly interested in upgrading the position group Harris left.

Patterson had been suspended by the Jets for leaving the team without contacting them and approving his absence. Patterson said the Jets were dishonest and knew his whereabouts.

The Jets were Patterson’s 7th team since he came into the league in 2005 with Washington. His contract with the Jets was a one year deal worth $3 million including a $1 million signing bonus.
