Special-Needs Assistant Coach Charged With Sexually Assaulting Player On Team

BAYTOWN, Texas (AP) — A 68-year-old assistant coach of a Texas special-needs softball team has been charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl on his team.

The Baytown Police Department charged Warren Warrington Doyle with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child on Wednesday.

The girl’s parents told police their daughter was sexually assaulted multiple times earlier this month. They say she has been on the team for about four years but the assaults began while the team was at a tournament in Burleson.

Doyle is being held in the Baytown city jail. Online jail records didn’t indicate bond or an attorney.
