Andre Johnson Hopes To Play Saturday

Andre Johnson is looking at the third game of preseason as his possible debut for the 2014 Houston Texans.  He talked to the media on Wednesday after the Texans finished up their second joint practice with the Broncos.

“I always want to play,” Andre said about being on the field against the Broncos in Denver on Saturday. “Coach O’Brien has the final say-so.  So we’ll see what happens.”

Johnson missed some time early in camp with a hamstring injury and took about a week off before coming back last week during joint practices with the Falcons.   Since then it’s been about getting better for the All-Pro wide out and he feels he’s close.

“I did more today than I did yesterday,” Johnson said. “Hopefully tomorrow I’ll come back and do more than I did today.  We’ll just see what happens.  All in all I’m feeling fine.  I know that if I had to I could go out and play.”

That is a good sign for the Texans as they have been missing many star players so far this preseason.  Brian Cushing, Johnathan Joseph, Arian Foster and Johnson all were inactive for the second preseason game against the Falcons.   All four players have been practicing full speed while in Colorado.
