VICTORIA, Texas (AP) — A South Texas emergency medical services employee found with child pornography on his work computer has been sentenced to more than six years in prison.

David Waldrop of Luling was sentenced Monday in federal court in Victoria.

Prosecutors say the 56-year-old Luling, who worked for Lavaca County EMS, pleaded guilty in February to possession of child pornography.

Co-workers found a thumb drive in a computer at an EMS station where Waldrop was employed. Prosecutors say a second thumb drive was also discovered at the work station. Investigators say the devices linked to Waldrop had hundreds of child porn images and child sexual assault and incest stories, including some apparently written by him.

Waldrop must serve 76 months behind bars.
