GEORGETOWN, Texas (AP) — A Central Texas man has been convicted of sexual assault of a child at an in-home day care center.
Greg Kelley faces at least 25 years in prison in the penalty phase beginning Wednesday in Georgetown.
A Williamson County jury on Tuesday night convicted the 19-year-old Kelley of two counts of super aggravated sexual assault against a child related to a 4-year-old boy. The child told his parents that Kelley molested him.
The “super” aggravated assault count involves a child under age 6.
Kelley, who denied the allegations, was a Leander High School football player and was staying with a classmate at the Cedar Park home last year.
Kelley was acquitted on a charge of indecency with a child by contact involving another 4-year-old boy at the center.
