2 Charged After Woman Fatally Mauled By Pit Bulls

HOUSTON (AP) — Two dog owners have been charged after a 43-year-old woman was fatally mauled by pit bulls in a Houston neighborhood.

Harris County jail records show 34-year-old Timothy Dewayne Coleman was being held Wednesday on a dog attack charge, with bond set at $10,000. Houston police say 26-year-old Tiara Deshawn Thomas was also charged with dog attack. Jail records indicate she was no longer in custody.

Information was not listed on attorneys for Coleman and Thomas, who were arrested Tuesday over January’s death of Christina Bell, also known as Christina Burleson.

Two other people who tried to help the woman were bitten by two dogs allegedly allowed to run loose.

Investigators have said DNA blood evidence on one of the pit bulls matched the dead woman.
