Jerome Williams DFA’d after Loss

Josh "JR" Reese

Jerome Williams after the Astros 10 – 4 loss to Mariners on Monday night, was officially Designated For Assignment by the club. Williams against the Mariners came into the game in mop up duty after the game was out of hand and pitched the 8th and 9th innings, but allowed two runs in the 9th inning.

Williams in 26 games for the Astros had allowed one or more runs in 16 of those games, Williams leaves the Astros with a 6.04 ERA.

Post game Williams took the blame “I had opportunity to be here and do my job, and obviously it wasn’t working”.

No announcement was made on who will replace Williams on the Roster but it is likely that rehabbing reliever Anthony Bass will be activated off the DL and join the team.
