New Orleans, La. (CBS HOUSTON) — A pair of New Orleans sisters designed an elaborate funeral service for their socialite mother – complete with disco balls, a case of Busch Light, a bottle of Glenlivet, menthol cigarettes – and recently deceased Miriam Burbank herself.
Burbank’s two daughters, who refer to their later mother as Mae Mae, said they wanted a funeral their lively mother would have appreciated if she was still alive. Propped up with a glass of red wine, a Busch Light can and a menthol cigarette in her hand, the memorial service for Miriam Burbank appeared that she was there to greet her guests and have a good time at the Charbonnet Funeral Home, WGNO-TV reports.
The funeral directors agreed with Burbank’s two daughters and they set up the party atmosphere and personal affects around her seated body.
A Saints lover, Burbank is seen sitting at a table in a living room with mini Saints helmets and fingernails painted in black and gold.
There are multiple bottles of liquor – Jack Daniels, Glenlivet, Ciroc, — surrounding Burbank, as it appears she is the guest of honor at her final party.
