HOUSTON (CBS Houston) – Multiple reports have come out that the University of Houston and Kelvin Sampson are close to finalizing a 5-year deal for Sampson to become the Cougars next head basketball coach.

Sampson is currently an assistant coach for the Houston Rockets.

Sampson last coach in college in 2008 when he resigned from the Indiana Hoosiers job after violating NCAA recruiting rules.

No details on the amount of money the five year deal is for the Sampson.
