Dynamo Add Strikingly Simple And Sharp Secondary Uniform
HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Dynamo, a team with already one of the most unique and original set of kits in Major League Soccer have improved on their look with a new secondary kit for the 2014 season.
The new jersey which doesn’t seem overly complex at first look adds some great subtle touches that makes the whole kit stand out and it all ties together really nicely. Blue piping on the sleeves and collar bring back a color that is often forgotten in their kits. The blue has been both wonderfully and poorly utilized in the past for the Dynamo and this addition to the secondary jersey is a great way to bring it back.
Keeping with their 2013 and primary design the “Forever Orange” text on the left collar bone is a unique touch that you don’t see on many other soccer jerseys anywhere and really connect the fans to the team.
In keeping with the small touches that help this be a complete jersey is the stripe pattern on the sock that might seem too busy if the rest of the kit weren’t so simply. The singular blue stripe and “Dynamo” type really provide for a powerful sock. A piece of the kit that is too often a throw away. It provides enough noise to break up the what might be seen as a plain set otherwise.
The real test for any kit though is to see how it will look on the field. We’ll give an update to this assessment once we watch it in action, which shouldn’t be too long, since the Dynamo open their season on Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium.
The new design will be available for first purchase Tuesday, March 4th from 5-7 p.m. at the adidas Dynamo Team Store located on the north side of BBVA Compass Stadium.
