This has been a bad week for the Alabama Crimson Tide nation. It will be a bad year at the least after hated Auburn won the Iron Bowl by returning a missed field goal 109 yards for the winning touchdown. It may be a bad decade if this weekend they lose the architect of three national titles the Tide has won in the past four years.
Rumors of Nick Saban to Texas have been floating for at least a year – which is about when the courtship apparently began. Make no mistake, with Mack Brown stepping down after 16 seasons as head coach of the Longhorns, the number one target is Nick Saban. And, “If everything’s bigger in Texas,” then so too is the substantial effort UT is making to land the Alabama coach.
