Houston (CBS Houston) - Ed Reed came out firing on a conference call with the Baltimore media on Wednesday. His main target: Wade Phillips. Reed questioned everything from Phillips scheme to his respect for players.

On Thursday Phillips approached the podium well aware that Reed would be a topic. He jokingly said “I hope you all can come up with a question today.”

“From what he said and what I can gather, I don’t think he’s going to ask me to induct him into the hall of fame,” Phillips said. “But when he does go into the hall of fame, wherever I am, I’m going to be clapping my hands and saying ‘hey well deserved’”

Reed insinuated that he was treated poorly upon his released but Phillips had a different account.

“I looked him right in the eye, shook hands with him, and said ‘thank you’” Phillips said.

For the most part, Phillips decided not to further the feud but he did leave a parting shot.

“There’s disappointments in this league and in life and I believe the way you deal with those things tells a lot about what you are and who you are.” Phillips said. Then taking a page out of Reed’s playbook he added “The truth is the truth.”
