Before making duck calls and starring in the hit reality TV show “Duck Dynasty” on A&E, Phil Robertson was a starting Quarterback at Louisiana Tech. Robertson’s debut as a collegiate quarterback came in 1965 at Rice Stadium in an Owls 14-0 victory.

Robertson completed three of five passes for 33 yards and ran twice for three yards in the loss. In 1966 Robertson would become the starter for Louisiana Tech. He would start until he quit football because it conflicted with duck hunting season.

The quarterback who took over for Robertson, Terry Bradshaw.

The star of Duck Dynasty doesn’t regret quitting football. The Duck Commander company he started out of his house has made him one very wealthy man and he never has to worry about missing duck season.
