Houston (CBS Houston)– Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced Thursday that the team has assigned guard Isaiah Canaan and forward Robert Covington to their D-League partner, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Canaan, 6-0 from Murray State, was the Rockets’ 34th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and Covington, 6-9 from Tennessee State, went undrafted but was a member of the Rockets 2013 Orlando Pro Summer League.

Neither of them played this season but they both will get the opportunity to develop in the D-League.

The Vipers are Houston’s single-affiliation partner and begin training camp on Friday.
