Houston (CBS Houston)- Houston Texans’ running backs Arian Foster missed Wednesday’s practice.
“Arian Foster has a back (issue),” Phillips said. “He’s with the doctors and being diagnosed.”
Foster was a game-time decision last Sunday but the Texans decided he was healthy enough to get the green-light. He ended up leaving the game after only one series.
Tate is dealing with four cracked ribs. But that didn’t seem to bother him Sunday night as he ran the ball 22 times for 81 yards.
“Ben Tate is a tough son-of-a-gun,” Phillips said. “He was really sore Monday. He’s going to play hurt, not injured.”
Phillips continued saying that he asked Tate if he was going to be ok and Tate responded that he’ll “be there.” Phillips talked about how he’s coached had star players that have sat out due to less pain and he’s impressed with Tate’s toughness.
Dennis Johnson, Deji Karim and Ray Graham will still be available for options at tailback for if Houston will need more help or depth.
Other Texans that did not practice Thursday were: Darryl Sharpton, Wade Smith and Mike Mohamad. Sharpton and Smith usually miss Wednesday practices.
