EL PASO, Texas (CBS Houston) – A man has been arrested after attacking three people with a box cutter at an El Paso nightclub, according to KVIA-TV.

Authorities have filed assault charges against 30-year-old Jesus Ortega. He was also charged on multiple outstanding traffic warrants.

Police arrived at the Tricky Falls Night Club Tuesday night and treated three people with cuts to their heads, neck and chests.

Witnesses told police Ortega was involved in some sort of scuffle inside the bar, then pulled out a box cutter and started slashing the victims.

Club security staff had detained Ortega and handed him over to police.

“Our security did a great job of responding and containing the situation, but most importantly to all of us, we hope for the speedy recovery of our guests,” Tricky Falls owners told KVIA-TV.

Death metal bands Deicide and Broken Hope were performing at the club.

So far police have no motive for the attack.

All three victims were taken to hospitals and are expected to recover.
