Could this week’s matchup with the Seattle Seahawks be a preview of the all-important February 2nd showdown at MetLife Stadium?
Texans safety Ed Reed thinks so. “This is a potential Super Bowl matchup,” the future Hall of Famer said Thursday after practice. “We have to execute our game plan as best as possible.”
While the Texans are coming off a bad loss to the defending champion Ravens in Baltimore last week, they are still clearly one of the preeminent teams in the AFC. Last year, the Texans throttled the Ravens, but it was Baltimore who eventually went on a championship run.
What’s the biggest key for the Texans defense this week? Reed says its stopping Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch. “He’s a game wrecker,” Reed said, “if you let him get started, he can be a bowling ball the whole day.”
The Seahawks enter Reliant Stadium a perfect 3-0 this year, with the best point differential in the NFL at +59.
