Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said during his Friday post practice press conference that Andre Johnson is expected to start Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
Johnson missed practice on Wednesday after suffering a bruised shin in the Texans’ Week 3 loss to the Ravens in Baltimore. He returned to practice in a limited capacity on Thursday but was a full participant in Friday’s drills.
Johnson was clearly hampered by the injury in the game against the Ravens. He was previously considered a game time decision, but Kubiak said Friday that judging by how well Johnson practiced today, he was on track to start Week 4.
Johnson’s return to health is good news for a Texans offense that is coming off its worst performance of the season in Baltimore. Their Week 4 matchup with the Seahawks at Reliant Stadium will not be any easier. Johnson is expected to see plenty of Seahawks CB Brandon Browner, while CB Richard Sherman will likely line up against Texans rookie WR DeAndre Hopkins.
Johnson leads the Texans with 25 receptions for 258 yards this season.
