Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson said he expects to play Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
“Right now I feel like I’ll play,” said Johnson. “It’s a process. Still sore. I think going out today running routes helped me out…I felt a little better. I’ve been feeling better day by day”
Johnson called the injury a deep muscle bruise, and said there was no damage to his actual shin.
“When you have a bad bruise like that when you’re just sitting around, when you move around a little bit it helps it out and loosens it up,” said Johnson. “I’m doing everything I can to get back on the field Sunday, and I look forward to playing.”
Johnson suffered the injury this past Sunday against the Ravens after a Ravens player accidentally kneed him in the shin. He returned for a few plays, but sat out the rest of the Texans 30-9 loss.
“Those are the things that make you frustrated,” said Johnson. “It doesn’t look like anything, but the next play I was limping. And it didn’t get any better.”
Johnson did say his status could change depending on how he feels the rest of the week. Gary Kubiak called him a game-time decision for the second straight day today.
