Orlando – (CBS Housotn): At the annual National Association of Broadcasters’ Marconi Radio Awards CBS Radio’s KLOL-FM (Mega 101 FM) was awarded the Spanish Station of the Year as the top Spanish Station in America.
The NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show recognizes top radio personalities and stations from all over the country and are considered one of the highest honors in Radio.
Sarah Frazier, The Senior Vice President and Market Manager of CBS Radio Houston, was in Orlando to accept the award.
Frazier said afterward:
“I am thrilled that Mega has been recognized Nationally for all the work we do locally here in Houston. This station is so important because it services the Latino community, Houston’s new majority, and where all of our city’s growth is coming from. The listeners of this station give back and participate more than most. They are family oriented, hard-working people and they donate what they can to help others. Mega was able to raise over half a million dollars for Children’s Miracle Network last December because of how many listeners contributed to the cause. This is an important station for CBS Radio and an important station for Houston. “
Winners are voted on by a selection academy and finalists get nominated by their peers, a selection of broadcasters.
CBS Radio Houston cluster consists of six stations, KILT-AM (Sports Radio 610), KILT-FM (The Bull 100.3), KHMX (Mix 96.5) KKHH (Hot 95.7), KLOL (Mega 101), & KIKK-AM (CBS Sports Radio 650)
