OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.
The Pro Bowler, who strained his left hip flexor during a win over the Cleveland Browns last week, missed his third consecutive day of practice Friday.
If Rice doesn’t play, Baltimore will turn to second-year running back Bernard Pierce. Pierce rushed for 532 yards and a touchdown as a rookie last season. He has 79 yards and a score this year.
In addition to Rice, Baltimore also listed starting defensive end Chris Canty (groin) as doubtful, along with wide receiver Deonte Thompson (foot), inside linebacker Arthur Brown (chest) and defensive lineman Brandon Williams (toe).
