Family Claims They Were Kicked Out of Applebee’s Over Children’s Behavior
HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – A family feels “heartbroken” and “disrespected” after they say they were kicked out of a Texas Applebee’s for their children’s behavior.
According to CBS News, Eli Gau and his wife Lillian Maliti took their two young sons to dinner Sunday night at the “family-friendly” restaurant located in Gaty, Texas.
The boys, a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old, were making noise and being active like children. The 3-year-old wandered off and Gau went to grab him quickly.
“As I was grabbing him and coming back, the manager was walking to me,” Gau explained to CBS News.
The manager told Gau the children were making too much noise and that they had to leave immediately. He also called the police.
The family of four was confronted by a Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy outside of the restaurant who gave them a warning for criminal trespassing.
An Applebee’s spokesperson apologized for the incident, claiming the management team mishandled the situation.
The restaurant offered free dinner passes to the family to return to the restaurant, but the Gau said his family won’t be returning.
“I feel very sad,” Gau told CBS News.
