The Houston Texans may not have to deal with Ravens ALL PRO running back Ray Rice. Last week during the 4th quarter against the Browns, Rice went down, while not being touched, and then limped of the field and did not to return. The Ravens went on to win without Rice, and Ravens went on to finish with heavy dose of back up Bernard Pierce.

After the game with the Browns, no MRI was needed to check the health of Rice and Coach John Harbaugh said Rice is considered “day to day” with a hip flexor strain. During the Ravens conference call with Houston media coach Harbaugh said “we’ll just see how he feels going in to the game” making Rice an unofficial game time decision.

Rice has had over 1,100 yards rushing and over 400 yards receiving in his last 4 seasons with the Ravens. This season he has underwhelmed so far, in 2 games started Rice has rushed 25 times for only 72 yards. Rice’s backup Bernard Pierce last year had 108 rushing attempts for 532 yards, but like Rice has underperformed this season with 28 attempts for 79 yards, both Rice and Pierce have averaged under 3 yards a rushing attempt.
