The Associated Press (AP)- Kent State (1-1) at No. 8 LSU(2-0) , 7 p.m. (ESPN)
Line: LSU by 37½.
Series record: First meeting
WHAT’S AT STAKE
LSU aims to build on its early season momentum in advance of its first Southeastern Conference game against Auburn the following week. The Tigers also cannot afford an upset to a five-TD underdog if they hope to retain their top-10 ranking. Kent State seeks a landmark first victory against an SEC team — after losing in 11 previous tries — in what is also the program’s first foray into Death Valley.
Kent State redshirt freshman QB Colin Reardon against a young LSU defense on which eight true freshmen have already seen action this year. LSU came into this season with only three full-time starters back after numerous players left early for the NFL, but so far, the unit has passed the test against No. 24 TCU and UAB. Reardon, meanwhile, has been efficient, completing better than 64 percent of his passes for four TDs and no interceptions.
PLAYERS TO WATCH

LSU: Odell Beckham Jr. had four TDs last week, three receiving and one on a 100-yard return of a field goal which fell short. He also has surpassed 100 yards receiving in each of his first two games. Junior DE Jermauria Rasco has racked up a team-leading 11 tackles to go with two QB hurries and 1½ sacks.
