Miles Seeks Improvement In LSU Running Game
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — In one season, LSU has gone from relying too heavily on power running to wondering if its ground game is now as reliable as it should be.
The eighth-ranked Tigers ran the ball well in the season opener against TCU, but had a much tougher time moving the ball on the ground against heavy underdog UAB,. LSU relied on its much-improved passing game to take over against UAB.
Miles says there is “more work to be done” with a running game that gained 152 yards against the Blazers last weekend, particularly with the offense line, and that LSU should have been “much more efficient running the football.”
LSU’s next chance to improve comes this Saturday night when Kent State, which has been stingy against the run, visits Tiger Stadium.
