Houston (CBS Houston) – The Texans will open their season without their big offseason acquisition. Safety Ed Reed will not play against San Diego as he continues to recover from a hip injury, Shiloh Keo will start in his place.
“We just got to get him in better football conditioning and get him ready but I’m hopeful that he’ll play next week.” Texans General Manager Rick Smith told Sports Radio 610.
Reed did make the trip to San Diego and went through an extensive workout before the game but will not play. Reed could return next week against the Titans or week three against the Ravens.
