Game Prep: Ed Reed Still A Game Time Decision
Houston (CBS Houston) – The Texans went through their final preparations for San Diego on Saturday. Here’s everything you need to know from Reliant.
>>> Wade Smith will not be limited on Monday night.
“He’s going back full-time. He’s been amazing with how far he’s come in a short period of time. When that group of offensive linemen gets together, they’re really close and it’s important to him to go full speed.” said Gary Kubiak.
Smith has previously talked about wanting to make it back for his brothers on the offensive line.
>>>Ed Reed is still a game time decision but Shiloh Keo will start regardless of whether Reed plays.
“Shiloh will start and we’ll make a decision on Ed here as we get together and visit.” said Kubiak.
>>>Arian Foster and Ben Tate will rotate carries on Monday night. It’s more for precautionary reasons.
“Arian’s conditioning is excellent. His practice this week has been just excellent. He’s a worker. That’s why he’s played well. I’ve been impressed with how he’s held up, but obviously it’s early in the season. I don’t know how warm it’s going to be up there, but I think we’re smart in playing them both. ” said Kubiak
>>>Manti Te’o has yet to practice with the Chargers this week. His status for Monday is unknown but it’s rare for a player to not practice on Friday and then play.
>>>Darryl Sharpton will not make the trip to San Diego as he recovers from a concussion. Coaches really like what Sharpton brings to the team but he has yet to show he can stay healthy.
“He’s found a way when he stays healthy to really help this team. He’s a good football player and I don’t see this year being any different. I wish he was going to be there Monday night, but hopefully this is a minor setback” said Kubiak.
