HOUSTON (AP) — U.S. Sen. John Cornyn and Houston Mayor Annise Parker are discussing plans for anti-human trafficking legislation to be submitted in Congress.

Cornyn, a Texas Republican, and Parker were to discuss details of the plan with the public in Houston Wednesday afternoon. Cornyn aides say the planned legislation would strengthen support for and protection of victims of human trafficking.

Specifically, the bill would increase law enforcement resources, enhance victims’ services and increase penalties in an effort to combat child sex trafficking, child pornography, sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
