Is the reigning Heisman winner a petulant punk, or the greatest thing in – and for, college football? (Maybe it’s both…) What happens on September 14 will carry significantly more weight than any off-season  “adventure,” in how Manziel’s 2013 season will be viewed. Can’t wait.

No one should feel more deflated than Georgia fans after week one.  It’s not even the injury to Malcolm Mitchell after celebrating a TD. No, the Dawgs should be crying because their national title hopes – for a really good team, came to an end in week one at (old rival) Clemson. Next for UGA, and angry JeDeveon Clowney and South Carolina.

Will the real Texas Longhorns please stand up. It could be a great year if the second-half team – against New Mexico St., shows up.  That version finished the night with 715 yards of total offense on 72 plays. If the first-half team appears, things will end up very ugly for Mack Brown.

Why should Ohio State be ranked above Clemson or Florida State? Random thoughts from the inaugural INSIDE COLLEGE FOOTBALL podcast.
