ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Alaska State Troopers say a 48-year-old Texas man has died from injuries sustained in a rockslide during a sheep-hunting trip in Alaska’s interior.

Troopers say they were notified Friday about the hunter, Manuel Rechy of Laredo, Texas. He was injured in the area around Red Mountain and Dry Creek, 49 miles east of the Parks Highway.

Rechy was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No foul play is suspected.
