UFC Fight Night 27 will happen Wednesday, August 28 on Fox Sports 1, and one of the fighters on the card is from Houston. Brian Melancon is coming off a win against Seth Baczynski at UFC 162. Brian was hooked on MMA early in life saying, “I had watched UFC 3 live on pay per view when I was 12 years old” and since then his love for the sport has grown. During the day he is a mild mannered physical therapist, but when he is not helping people get better, he trains to fight in the worlds best organization. He comes in to this fight on short notice, but doesn’t feel it’s a big deal.  “After my last fight I wasn’t injured, so I was able to get back in the gym that same week”. He was hoping to be a part of UFC 166 in Houston, but will settle for Main card treatment on the 2nd ever Fox Sports 1 card. Weigh in’s already took place and both Brian and Kelvin Gastelum are on weight and ready to throw down on Fox Sports 1
