Head Coach Gary Kubiak ruled running back Arian Foster and wide receiver DeVier Posey out for Sunday’s game against the Saints at Reliant Stadium. The two were removed from the PUP list just this week. but practiced full time with the scout team today.

“They’ve just been on the field three days and we’re not going to put them out there,” said Kubiak. “But they’re both doing well, and we’ve got plenty of time.”

Kubiak said he’ll work both Foster and Posey out Sunday before the game.

Rookie wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will also sit out after suffering a concussion Saturday against the Dolphins. He’s still in phase one of the league’s concussion protocol.

“He’s feeling a lot better,” said Kubiak. “I think we’re making progress, but there was never any plan for him to play.”

Some other notes from today:

>>> Tim Jamison will start in place of suspended defensive end Antonio Smith. Smith’s appeal of his three game (2 preseason plus the opener against the Chargers) was denied earlier today.

>>> T.J. Yates will be the first Texans QB off the bench. He and Case Keenum will likely split reps in the second half.

>>> Punter Shane Lechler could possibly play Sunday. He has a sore plant leg, but has still been holding field goals for Randy Bullock.
