Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt is supporting his line-mate and “brother” Antonio Smith with regards to the suspension Smith received for an altercation with a Miami Dolphins player.

Smith was suspended for the last two preseason games and the first regular season game for ripping off Richie Incognito’s helmet and swinging it at him.  Smith is currently going through the appeals process.

“I support my teammate,” Watt said after practice Wednesday.  “Obviously (Smith) is going through the appeals process.  I hope we get him back as soon as we can.”

J.J. Watt was asked if Incognito who was pulling at Smith’s face mask before Smith retaliated was dirty.  Watt didn’t say he thought so, but indicated a lot of people “think that.”

Smith will be missed as a defensive presence on the other side of the defensive line from Watt.

“That’s my brother and I miss him,” Watt said. “You always miss your brother out there.”
