Soccer aficionados rejoice!
IF you have a minimum of $90 (plus the cost of airfare, hotel and extras) you can be one of the lucky few that get to attend one of the biggest sporting events in the world.
FIFA announced that approximately 3.3 million tickets have been made available for the tournament, with about 500,000 tickets set aside for Brazilian citizens only. Fans can start to apply for the “golden ticket” as of Tuesday.
FIFA’s Marketing Director, Thierry Weil, said there is a new option this tournament for ticket request that allows fans to have the tickets delivered at home. “Fans will be able to choose either to collect tickets at Distribution Centers or have them delivered to their home address, anywhere in the world.”
Prices range from $90 for group stages to $990 for the final match in Rio de Janeiro. Brazilian fans will have a discount on all matches.
2 million tickets were sold in South Africa 2010.
