Texans are now 2-0 in the preseason, winners against the Vikings and the Dolphins. In this last game with the Dolphins, the Texans won 24 to 17 and while there were flashes of good and bad, below are some thoughts on the action that took place last night.

Good

Defensive pressure
6 sacks, a few TFL’s and Dolphins QB’s at times had to rush passes, it’s not game 1 against the Chargers but you have got to like the pressure the team has shown and it sure is nice to see Brian Cushing create pressure.

Case Keenum
11 completions for 150 yards and a TD, aside from 1 horrible pass to a WIDE open D. Karim he was fairly sharp. Keenum was even able to lead a 1 minute drill that lead to 3 points, Keenum accounted for 10 points during the game.

The Bad

Dennis Johnson
Two weeks in a row, you hoped he would take the job but once again everyone but DJ looked good. He had 19 yards of total offense on 6 touches and lost 1 fumble. Right now it looks like he is not even a lock for the practice squad any more.

The Ugly

DeAndre Hopkins
Left the game with a head injury that was later confirmed as a concussion, before leaving he had 2 catches for 22 yards. We will learn more in the coming days, but it’s best not to rush him back. We have seen enough flashes from him, so let’s just have him ready for game 1.

Safety depth
Starting safety Shiloh Keo and back up Eddie Pleasant both went down in the game and neither returned. Keo injured his quad and Pleasant injured his knee (knee sprain). Coach mentioned it will be more likely for Keo to return before Pleasant.
