Houston (CBS Houston) – Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller went down with a serious knee injury in the second quarter of the Texans 24 to 17 victory.

Texans safety D.J. Swearinger went low to make an open field tackle causing Keller’s knee to buckle. Keller instantly went down in pain and was carted off the field. (See The Video Here)

“I never go hit somebody to injure them at all, so I told him good luck after the hit, but I was just playing within the rules. I wish him all the luck and I wish him a speedy recovery.” said Swearinger.

Swearinger initially got up and celebrated his tackle but then doubled back to check on Keller after realizing he was injured.

“I mean, I felt bad but at the same time it’s part of the game. It’s playing within the rules, so I felt a little grief for him but at the same time it’s football.” said Swearinger.

Keller was taken for an MRI after the game. Keller will miss the entire 2013 season.
