DeAndre Hopkins Leaves Texans Win With Concussion
Houston (CBS Houston) – DeAndre Hopkins was off to a hot start in his second pre-season game. The first round draft pick had two receptions for 22 yards before coming up woozy after hitting his head on the turf.
“He got a concussion. I don’t know exactly what play it happened on, but I thought something was wrong. He seemed a little woozy. I told (Wide Receivers Coach) Larry (Kirksey) to get him out of there.” said Gary Kubiak.
Kubiak didn’t initially notice that something was wrong with Hopkins but then he realized Hopkins wasn’t running his usually solid routes.
“He just didn’t run the route, didn’t get his depth, stumbling all over the place. I told Larry (Kirksey) to check on him and then we got him out.” said Kubiak.
Andre Johnson, who plays the role of big brother for the young wide receiver, didn’t seem concerned after the game.
“Yeah he’s fine. He just got a little woozy on a pass he caught, but he’s fine.” said Johnson.
Hopkins was seen walking around the locker room after the game but did not address the media.
