Gunmen Open Fire At Southwest Houston Restaurant

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Police are investigating a robbery and shooting that took place inside of a Taco Cabana restaurant Thursday morning in southwest Houston.

According to reports, the incident happened around 6:30am at the restaurant located on Bellaire Boulevard at the Southwest Freeway.

Several suspects entered the restaurant and demanded everyone inside congregate. Authorities stated that at least two people managed to escape from inside of the restaurant after the suspects’ demands; it was then that two of the suspects opened fire inside of the restaurant.

Additional reports indicate that the suspects also held the manager of the restaurant at gunpoint and demanded money; the suspects did escape with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officials with the Houston Police Department further stated that two of the suspects got away by getting on a METRO bus with the third suspect making his getaway in a car.

As police continue their investigation of the crime, one female was known to have sustained a gunshot wound to one of her legs. No other injuries were reported at the time of this report.
