Houston (CBS Houston) – The small wins call for small victories.
The Houston Astros showed to the Oakland Coliseum, Thursday, wearing jeans proudly to the ballpark. According to Associated Press’ Janie McCauley, winning a series earns Houston’s players the right to wear jeans to the ballpark.
McCauley, said, “Second baseman Jose Altuve brought up the idea during a series in Tampa Bay before the All-Star break. Skipper, Bo Porter agreed to it trying to boost the mentality and confidence in his young team.”
Even though the Astros have another game left in their series tonight with Oakland, they clinched the three games series winning last night 2-1 in 11 innings.
Houston product and a bright spot in the Astros’ rotation, Jarred Cosart pitched six scoreless innings last night and led the Astros to their first series win in nearly two months.
Hopefully moving forward Astros fan’s will see the players sporting jeans more often.
