Astros Trade LHP Travis Blackley To Rangers

Houston (CBS Houston)– Astros GM Jeff Luhnow announced that LHP Travis Blackley has been dealt to the Texas Rangers for a player to be named later and cash considerations.

Blackey was designated for assignment on Aug. 08 and has been on the Triple A Oklahoma City roster since, where he appeared in one game surrendering on earned run in two innings.

Blackley was acquired by the Astros from the Athletics before the beginning of the season and posted a 1-1 record with a 4.89 ERA, allowing 10 homeruns and 20 walks against 29 strikeouts.

The 30- year-old pitcher is 8-8 with a 5.28 ERA in 78 career appearances (23 starts) in four major league seasons, Mariners (2004), Giants (2007, 2012) Athletics (2012) and Astros (2013).
