HOUSTON (CBS Houston) On Tuesday, a SWAT standoff ended with the deaths of two women.

According to reports, the SWAT standoff happened at a Montrose area apartment. Police say two women were found dead inside the apartment home.

Officials stated that at about 1 p.m. they answered a call from a woman who was threatening to take her own life. That woman reportedly barricaded herself inside an apartment at the Emerson Court Apartments located in the 200 block of Emerson at Garrott.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to talk to the woman but their efforts proved to be fruitless. When authorities entered the second-story apartment, they found two women dead of apparent gunshots wounds. Although the relationship between the women was not known at the time of this report, officials stated that one of the victims was an elderly female.

Authorities continue their investigation into the incident.
