Report: Gunman Takes Three Hostage Inside Louisiana Bank

CICELY MITCHELL, CBS Houston

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) According to officials, on Tuesday, a gunman took at least three people hostage at a bank in northeastern Louisiana. The incident took place at the Tensas State Bank in St. Joseph, Louisiana, which is located just southeast of Monroe.

Louisiana State Police stated that the suspect was armed with what was believed to be an automatic weapon. Authorities further stated that negotiations were also taking place. Authorities believed that the persons taken hostage were bank employees. It was unclear if there were customers inside of the bank during the hostage takeover.

There were no other details given at the time of this report.
