Houston (CBS Houston) – The Astros have assigned Wesley Wright to the Tampa Bay Rays for cash considerations. Wright, who has pitched for the Astros since 2008, was the longest tenured player on the team.

The 28-year old left hander had appeared in, an American League high, 54 games for the Astros this year with 3.92 ERA. He was also one of the few veteran presences in a bullpen that has struggled to be consistent this season.

The major league trade deadline has come and gone but teams are still able to move players through waivers. The Astros also announced Monday they have called up Philip Humber from AAA Oklahoma City.
