HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Two separate car accidents slowed inbound traffic on I-45 North early Wednesday morning.

The first car accident was reported near FM-1960 just before a.m., according to Houston TranStar. That accident involved an 18-wheeler and a smaller vehicle that collided. As a result, one person was killed. All main lanes were closed for more than an hour.

As of 6 a.m. three southbound main lanes and two frontage road lanes remained blocked at FM-1960 as crews worked to clean up the roads and reopen them for Wednesday’s rush hour. scene.

Another car accident near the town of Willis blocked all southbound main lanes as of 5 a.m. according to TranStar officials. A hazmat team worked that fiery scene after a truck was involved in an accident. No other vehicles were reportedly involved in the second accident reported.
