HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A man is dead following a shooting on the Katy Freeway Tuesday night and police continue their search of the shooter. The two passengers in the victim’s car say the victim did not know the suspect.
The incident happened around 8:30pm as the victim and two other people were heading home from work in a Chevy Cruise car, traveling eastbound on I-10 near Silber Road.
It was then that another vehicle, a gray Chevy Malibu, was seen driving erratically. As the victim drove closer to note the car’s license plate, things took a violent turn.
The driver of the Cruise called 911 to report the reckless driver and shortly after that, the driver of the Malibu pulled out a gun and began shooting. As result of the shooting, the driver of the Chevy Cruise was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities stated that he suffered a gunshot wound to his head. Officials continue their search for the suspect. There was no other information released at the time of this report.
