Houston (CBS Houston) – Editor’s Note: Camp Confidential will feature daily news and notes throughout Texans training camp.
Here is what you need to know about this mornings practice.
>>>Linebackers Brooks Reed and Sam Montgomery both returned to practice. Montgomery only participated in individual drills and was wearing a brace. The remainder of the week will be important for Montgomery who has yet to make much of a positive impression.
“Things start going fast, we play Friday and we’re going to play a couple games real real fast after that, so as a young guy this is a huge week.” said Gary Kubiak
Kubiak also said he doesn’t expect Montgomery to see game action this Friday.
>>> Tim Dobbins did not practice with a shoulder injury. No word yet on if he will be ready for Friday but Kubiak remains hopeful.
>>>Ben Tate is expected to be back tomorrow. Arian Foster did work out on the side but there is still no timetable for his return.
“We got to get him back and involved in the process. Your watching (Cushing) go through it, everybody’s got to go through that process to get ready to play, the quicker we get him back the better.” said Kubiak
>>>Tim Jamison had a good day. He was constantly attacking on his way to an emphatic swat of a Matt Schaub pass.
>>>T.J. Yates didn’t have his best day. He was going through his progressions well and making the right reads but he struggled to deliver the ball on target.
>>>It’s hard not to be excited about what Greg Jones will bring to the team. He’s got above average speed and quickness for a fullback. He beat out coverage for a nice catch over the middle.
>>>Wade Smith tweaked his knee. It didn’t appear to be serious but he will be evaluated by the training staff.
>>>Brandon Harris was shut down as a precaution after his groin tightened up.
