Houston (CBS Houston) – Editor’s Note: Camp Confidential will feature daily news and notes throughout Texans training camp.

It’s a game week for the Texans so the intensity level was up this morning. Here’s what you need to know.

>>>DeAndre Hopkins was once again the star of the day. This time he showed off in the redzone winning jump ball after jump ball against great coverage.

“He moves a little bit like Rod Smith to me.” said Gary Kubiak

>>>Joe Mays continued to take first team reps at inside linebacker. Whenever Mays was in, Darryl Sharpton would anxiously pace until it was his turn. Sharpton has been a madman since returning from a groin injury.

>>> The offense worked on the redzone passing game for a majority of practice. Corners were challenged with fade routes from Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins. Roc Carmichael and Brandon Harris were both very strong in coverage.

>>> Trevardo Williams, who has struggled throughout most of camp, had a nice interception off of a tipped pass.

>>>Brian Cushing worked in full pads against both the pass and the run. Wade Phillips even sent him on a couple of blitzes throughout 11 on 11 drills.

>>>Matt Schaub and T.J. Yates were both given the chance to run a two minute drill. With Schaub at the helm, the drive ended in a 25-yard field goal. Yates completed three straight to Lestar Jean before his unit converted on a 36-yard field goal.

>>>Case Keenum has struggled under center for most of camp. On Friday he fumbled a snap, then today he was tripped up during an exchange ending the play before it started. Unfortunately for Case, T.J. Yates and Stephen McGee are much more reliable under center.

>>>Kubiak has not decided how much work Matt Schaub will get in the pre-season opener.

>>>Exhale… JJ Watt did practice today. He sat out the padded portion of team drills but  played once the pads were off. He was dominant as usual getting to Matt Schaub on multiple occasions.

>>>The linebacker core continues to take a beating. Today it was Tim Dobbins who left practice with a right arm/shoulder injury.

“We got some serious health situations, especially at linebacker right now, so I got to get them to Friday now and get them ready to play.” said Kubiak

>>>Brooks Reed, Whitney Mercilus, Arian Foster, Brennan Williams, Alan Bonner, and Ben Tate did not practice.

>>>Astros President Reid Ryan was in attendance.

>>>Deion Sanders was at the Methodist Training Center with the NFL Network. After practice Sanders spent about 15 minutes talking with the defensive backs.
