UPDATE: Stabbing Suspect Captured In Louisiana

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Authorities are investigating the stabbing of a woman, multiple times, during the early morning hours of Saturday.
The crime took place at the EconoLodge Inn near Garth Road and Harbor Mist between 2:20am and 3am on Saturday.
Additional reports indicate that a woman and a man checked into the motel. Soon afterward, some type of discord or disturbance broke out.
During that discord or disturbance, the woman was reportedly stabbed eight times. Life Flight was called to transport the woman to the hospital; at the time of this report, she was listed in stable condition. Despite being stabbed the woman was able to convey to police that the man she got in the altercation with fled in her car. No other details were released at the time of this report.
A woman stabbed early Saturday morning at a Baytown motel is in the hospital with the suspect accused of attacking her jailed in Louisiana.
Reports state that
Humble resident Christopher Kemp, 29, was arrested in Monroe after leading authorities in Louisiana on a car chase.
The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Department noticed the stolen vehicle Kemp allegedly used to flee the scene of the stabbing,.
After refusing to pull over after officers pursued him on Interstate 20, Kemp exited the highway, drove into a farm field and then surrendered to officers.
Kemp is accused of stabbing a 32-year-old woman at the Econo Lodge located on Garth Road in Baytown around 3:45am Saturday.
Additional reports state that Kemp and the woman were causally dating. Surveillance video showed a man and a woman that police believe to be Kemp and the victim walking up to a room, with bags and beer in hand.
