CICELY MITCHELL, CBS Houston

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A man was taken into custody Friday following a threat he made inside of a store.

According to reports, the suspect was inside of a Love’s truck stop in Baytown. A Harris County SWAT team responded to the Love’s truck stop in the 1700 block of Interstate 10 Frontage near Thompson Road Friday afternoon, after the suspect entered the truck stop dressed only in undergarments.

The suspect reportedly walked into the store and threatened to kill everyone in the store and then walked out and got into his vehicle. In addition to Baytown police responding to the incident, a SWAT vehicle arrived and parked behind Scheele’s pickup truck, which he was in.

SWAT team members tried to negotiate with Scheele, but he responded with loud cursing responses. He finally surrendered just before 2 .m., putting his hands up outside the truck window and then exiting the vehicle. Authorities further stated that although Scheele was not carrying any weapons, he was taken to a Baytown jail and is expected to undergo a mental evaluation.
